Dr. Abubaker Al Madani

Dr. Abu Baker Al Madani completed his undergraduate certificate in 1997 from the University of Gothenburg, Sweden. In Gothernburg University, he was involved in teaching and contributed in research study with Dr. Anders Hamberger in neuroprotective agents in acute stroke. Then, he completed his Canadian Royal College in Neurology (FRCPC) in 2009.

Dr. Madani had his residency at the University of Toronto which is ranked number 1 in Canada by Royal College of Canada, and ranked number 4 in the whole North America by American Academy of Neurology. He was personally involved in regional stroke program and he was involved in at least 500 stroke cases and 80 TPA cases. In his residency he also did one whole elective year which involves EEG, research, pathology and nerve conduction studies. By finishing the residency, he was able to manage neurological cases as general neurological cases as general neurologist in 2007. He has his fellowship in neuromuscular subspecialty from 2007 to 2009.

Dr. Alessandro Terruzzi

Dr. Alessandro Terruzzi is currently the Head of Neurology Department at Mediclinic City Hospital, and Clinical Lead and Head of Mediclinic Comprehensive Stroke Center at City Hospital, in Dubai (UAE).

Dr. Terruzzi graduated from, and underwent Specialist training in Neurology, at the University of Medicine and Surgery of MilanoBicocca in Italy, where he also obtained a 2nd level Master Degree in Cerebrovascular Diseases.

He was working at the Neuroscience Department of Manzoni Hospital as a Stroke Neurologist, where he was the former Director of the Headache Center, before moving to Dubai in 2017 as Consultant Neurologist.

He is also a well trained Neuro-sonologist, expert in ultrasound doppler investigation of the carotid and vertebral arteries and transcranial eco-colour doppler.

Since 2019 he collaborates with the Mohamed Bin Rashid University as Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor. Dr. Terruzzi’s primary interests are the diagnosis and treatment of headaches and cerebrovascular disorders.

Dr Ali Mohamed Hassan

Dr Ali Mohamed Hassan

Dr. Ali Hassan is Consultant and acting chief of neurology division, Tawam hospital. After graduation from Assiut University in South Egypt, he had his further training in the residency program in the university hospitals which has more than 2000 beds and a highly advanced neurology department.

He completed his master degree in neuroscience in 2003 and Medical Doctorate in neurology from Al-Azhar University in 2010. Dr Ali has a long experience in neurology service in different Middle East teaching and tertiary hospitals. He worked for Ibn Sina teaching hospital, Sirt, Libya, then he joined King Fahad Military hospital in Jeddah for three years and in 2011 he joined Al Ain hospital then in 2017 he joined Tawam hospital.

He has many researches especially in the stroke, vascular neurology, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, ..etc. His main interests are stroke, headache, neuroimmunology and neuromuscular disorders. He has special training in EEG and epilepsy in Case Western university hospitals, Cleveland, Ohio. He has many presentations in local and international conferences.

Prof. Alan M. Rapoport, M.D. is a Clinical Professor of Neurology at The David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, Los Angeles, California and is a Past-President of the International Headache Society, as well as the founder and Director-Emeritus of The New England Center for Headache, in Stamford, Connecticut. He has a private practice in Headache and General Neurology in Santa Monica, CA at the California Medical Clinic for Headache. Board-certified in Neurology and Headache Medicine, he has co-authored more then 300 articles, chapters and posters on headache and other neurological conditions as well as 9 books for physicians and patients on headache. He has lectured around the country and internationally to general physicians, neurologists and headache specialists on all aspects of headache pathophysiology, diagnosis and treatment and has appeared many times on national radio and television programs, such as Today, Good Morning America, CBS This Morning and 20/20.

He is an editor of Headache, CNS Drugs and Editor in Chief of Neurology Reviews, and he reviews for many peer-reviewed journals such as Cephalalgia, Neurology, New England Journal of Medicine and Headache.

Dr. Rapoport has served on the Board of Directors of the American Headache Society (AHS) and is the immediate past President of the Fairfield County Neurological Society, the Founding President of the Headache Cooperative of New England (HCNE), the founding Director of the Headache Cooperative of the Pacific (HCOP) and until recently was the Chairman of the Education and Membership Committee of the International Headache Society (IHS). He was elected to the position of President President of the International Headache Society in April 2013 and is now a Past- President. He is the co-founder of an IT non-profit company named ProMyHealth which offers on line consultations to headache patients and produces a written consultation for them to take to their physician.He is CEO of BonTriage which is an IT Health Care company that takes on line expert histories for headache and also helps screen potential patients for clinical trials.

Dr. Rapoport has testified many times in court for both defense and plaintiff and often reviews medical records and consults with attorneys and their staff. His expertise is in headache but he has been involved in personal injury and several patent cases, often related to neurological programs, headache and pain.

Dr. Rapoport has been an expert in 3 large patent infringement cases.

Antoinette Maassen van den Brink is Professor of Neurovascular Pharmacology at the Erasmus MC, Rotterdam, The Netherlands.

She studies the neurovascular aspects of migraine, with a special interest in the role of female sex hormones on its pathophysiology.

Her research is translational in origin, including animal in vivo experimental models, human isolated tissue models, as well as human in vivo clinical models.

She is a board member of the Dutch Headache Society and founding board member of the Dutch Society for Gender and Health.

She is President-elect of the European Headache Federation and, together with prof. Christian Lampl, chaired the EHF congress in Vienna in December 2022.

She received many prestigious research grants, include the VENI, VIDI and VICI grants from the Dutch Research Council.

Prof. Christian Lampl is currently Head of the Department of Neurology at the Konventhospital Barmherzige Brüder Linz, Director of the Headache Medical Center Linz and Chair of the Center of Integrative Medicine for Elderly at the Ordensklinikum Linz. Prof. Lampl received his doctorate at the University of Innsbruck in 1990.

Between 1998 and 2005 he was a senior physician at the neurological and psychiatric department of the general hospital in Linz.

Prof. Lampl is current president of the EHF. Prof. Lampl is a fellow of five professional societies.

Prof. Lampl’s research is focused on: epidemiology and burden of headache, migraine aura as a possible risk factor for migraine headache; neuropathic pain and dementia with focus on elderly people.

He has published numerous articles on headache and neuropathic pain. In addition, he has contributed to several book chapters.

Prof. Lampl is also an Ad Hoc reviewer for journals such as Cephalalgia, JHP, Headache, Clin J Pain, J Neurol and Eur J Neurology.

Dr. Deeb Kayed is an American Board Certified Neurologist (1997) and Clinical Neurophysiologist (1999) with a particular interest in headaches.

Dr. Kayed graduated magna cum laude from the University of Evansville with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 1986. He then graduated from St George's University School of Medicine in 1990.

He completed his residency training in Adult Neurology at Temple University Hospital, Philadelphia, PA, USA in 1996 where he also served as Chief Resident. He next completed a Fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology at Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia in 1997 followed by a Fellowship in Advanced Clinical Neurology - Child Neurology at Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia in 1998.

Dr Kayed relocated to The UAE in 2000 and served as a Consultant Neurologist at Tawam Hospital in Al Ain where he was also Head of the Division of Neurology. At the Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences, UAE University, Dr. Kayed served as Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor.

Dr.Kayed relocated to Dubai in 2005 where he has been working in private practice. He is an Assistant Professor at the MBRU School of Medicine. His practice is currently located at The Integrated Rheumatology & Arthritis Centre in Dubai Health Care City. He is an Independent Doctor, Consultant Neurologist, at The Mediclinic City Hospital Dubai in Dubai Health Care City. Dr Kayed's primary interest is in the management of patients with headaches, in particular migraine.

Dr. Al-Hashel is a Professor of Neurology and Headache specialist. He is a graduate of the college of medicine, Kuwait University, Kuwait. Dr. Al-Hashel completed his neurology residency as well as his fellowship in headache and Botulinum toxin injection at McGill University, Canada. Dr. Al-Hashel is board certified from the Royal college of Physicians and Surgeon of Canada (FRCPC) and had also American fellowship in Headache Medicine (FAHS) and Canadian fellowship in Headache Medicine from McGill University. He is a Consultant Neurologist and Professor of Neurology at Kuwait University, faculty of medicine in Kuwait. He established the headache and the Botulinum toxin clinic in Ibn Sina and Mubarak Al-Kabeer Hospitals in Kuwait. Dr. Al-Hashel also the Chair of the faculty of Neurology in Kuwait and the President of Kuwait Neurological Society and the Vice President of Pan Arab Union of Neuroscience (PAUNS). Dr. Al-Hashel has more than 110 publications in the field of Neurology and author a chapter in chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) in International neurology book, Second edition. Dr. Al-Hashel was awarded as best researcher in Kuwait University in 2015. Dr. Al-Hashel was awarded by H.H the Amer of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah for scientific achievements in Medical Sciences and Allied Health Sciences 2019.

Dr. Nada Hindiyeh

Nada Hindiyeh, MD, FAHS, is a board-certified neurologist and headache specialist and is currently the Director of Headache Medicine at Metrodora Institute. She was previously a Clinical Associate Professor of Neurology at Stanford University where she was the Director of Clinical Research for the Stanford division of Headache Medicine and served as principal investigator for numerous clinical trials.

She was awarded the 2013 Clinical Research Fellowship in Neurotoxins by the American Academy of Neurology and under this scholarship investigated a diagnostic screening protocol for chronic migraine. She is currently a member of the American Headache Society (AHS), is the co-chair of the AHS Electronic Media Committee and was chosen as an AHS Emerging Leader in the field in 2017. She is also a member of the International Headache Society and serves as the Executive Vice-President of the World Headache Society.

Dr. Hindiyeh completed her medical degree at the University of Toledo College of Medicine in Toledo Ohio. Both her internship and neurology residency were completed at the University of California, Irvine, Medical Center, where she was chief resident. She completed her fellowship in Headache and Facial Pain at Stanford University School of Medicine.

Dr. Alsaadi is a Chief Medical officer and the Chair of the Neurology Department at the American Center of Psychiatry & Neurology (ACPN). He was trained in Epilepsy and Clinical Neurophysiology at the University of California San Francisco and was a research fellow in Epilepsy there. He is board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and by the American Board of Clinical Neurophysiology and by the American Board of Neurology in Clinical Epilepsy.

Before joining ACPN, Dr. Alsaadi was the Chief of the Neurology Department at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City for 11 years. He previously held a position as an associate Professor of Neurology and the Director of the Adult Epilepsy Program and the Clinical Research Program at the University of California Davis. His research has focused on conducting drug study trials for new antiepileptic drugs for patients with epilepsy, quality of life in patients with epileptic and non-epileptic disorders, migraine headaches, multiple sclerosis, neuropsychiatric co-morbidities. Dr. Alsaadi has been honored with several prestigious awards for his work in the field of epilepsy. He has served on the Advisory Board of the Northern California Epilepsy Foundation and on the membership committee of the American Epilepsy Society.

He has previously served as the President of the Western Clinical Neurophysiology Society in the United Sates and as the Vice President of CEMA (Commission of the Eastern Mediterranean Affairs). He is currently the President of the Emirati League against epilepsy. He also serves at the Editorial Board for BMC Journal of Neurology and Journal of Neurosciences. He has authored and co-authored more than 65 papers and book chapters and has served as a peer-reviewer for more than 15 scientific journals.
